Children's residential care in Maine for ages 5–21
CONQER provides safe, structured, trauma-informed residential care for children and young adults in Maine. We support youth facing mental health challenges, intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and substance use, and we work alongside families and caseworkers throughout each child's stay.
Who we serve
Our programs are for children, teens and young adults ages 5 to 21 who need more support than they can get at home right now. Referrals often come from families, guardians, caseworkers and partner agencies across Maine.
What care includes
- Mental health support: trauma-informed care and individual therapy for children and adolescents.
- IDD support: building daily life skills, independence and pathways into the community.
- Substance use recovery: youth-focused intervention in a safe, judgment-free setting.
- Family services: advocacy, education and tools for parents and guardians.
How we work
Every placement starts with understanding the child: their needs, history and family. From there we build a personalized plan with the family and the professionals involved, provide active day-to-day support, and plan for a steady transition home or to the next step.
Every child deserves a place to belong.
